A small reef island south of Hurghada with a beach on the lee side and coral shallow enough to see clearly from a glass-bottom boat.

Utopia is one of the southern islands, far enough down the coast that the crossing is part of the day. It has a proper beach on the sheltered side — sand, not rubble — and the reef wraps around it close to shore.
The shallow shelf is what the glass-bottom boats come for: two to four metres of water over hard coral, clear enough that the fish are visible from a dry seat. Snorkellers get the same ground and then the edge where it drops, which is where the larger schools hold. It is an easy island, and it suits mixed parties where not everyone intends to get wet.
