Tours and day trips in Frankfurt

Our most recommended things to do in Frankfurt

Frankfurt is two cities in one. Around the Römerberg you find the medieval town hall, the cathedral where emperors were crowned and the rebuilt half-timbered lanes of the New Old Town. A few minutes away the towers of the banking district rise above the Main, and across the river the museums of the Museum Embankment line the Sachsenhausen bank. The easiest start is on foot: join our daily history walk in English, or book a private walk with your own guide in English or German.

To rest your legs, take a 50-minute cruise on the Main from the Eiserner Steg, or ride the open-top hop-on hop-off bus with a 24-hour ticket past the Römer, the Main Tower, the trade fair and Sachsenhausen. Frankfurt is also a good base for the region. In half a day you can be at Heidelberg Castle and back, and a full day takes you to Rüdesheim and onto a boat through the Rhine Valley to the Loreley.

Our day trips leave from Wiesenhüttenplatz, close to the main railway station, easy to reach from most hotels; hotel pickup is not included. Walks start at the Römerberg. The prices shown are estimates and are confirmed with your booking, along with exact meeting points and times. Some trips need a minimum number of guests, and we tell you in good time if a date changes.
