El Nido to Coron: 3-Day Island Expedition with Beach Huts€259 / person
Coron Beach Day: Malcapuya, Ditaytayan Sandbar and Coco Beach€35 / personCoron, in the north of Palawan, is a place you see from a boat. Around Coron Island the limestone cliffs hide lakes and lagoons you can swim in, among them Kayangan Lake, Twin Lagoon and Barracuda Lake. In the bay lie Japanese ships sunk in an air raid on 24 September 1944, and some rest so close to the surface that you can see them with a mask and snorkel. Farther out there are white beaches and sandbars such as Malcapuya and Ditaytayan.
Our local guides run every trip here, in English. Choose the classic day around Coron Island with seven stops, a private boat that follows your own plan, a snorkelling day over reefs and wrecks, or a slower beach day. If you are travelling on to El Nido, you can make the crossing as a three-day island-hopping expedition, with two nights in native-style huts.
Every visitor to Coron pays an environmental fee of PHP 200 per person, in cash, at the airport or the port on arrival. Many sites charge their own entrance fee: Kayangan Lake PHP 300, Barracuda Lake PHP 250, Twin Lagoon PHP 200. Each trip page says which fees are included. Bring cash in pesos and your own snorkel gear if you have it. Prices are estimates and are confirmed with your booking.
