- Tours and day trips in Cebu
Cebu sits in the middle of the Philippines, and Cebu City is where Spanish rule in the country began in the 16th century. You can spend a morning among the old churches and markets of the city centre, tasting local food between Magellan's Cross and the Santo Niño basilica, then head into the hills behind the city, where two temples, a flower garden and the Tops lookout look out over Cebu and Mactan to the sea.
Many visitors come for the water. From Mactan, where the airport is, a pump boat takes you out to the small islands and reefs offshore to snorkel at a marine sanctuary and have lunch on an island. On the south-west coast, around Moalboal and Badian, you can follow the Matutinao River canyon down to Kawasan Falls with a licensed guide, a helmet and a life jacket. Bohol is close enough for a day trip too.
A few practical notes. Cebu City and Mactan are next to each other, but Moalboal and Badian are roughly three hours away by road, so canyoneering works best if you spend a night or two on that coast. Our own local guides run every tour, in English. Hotel pickup is included on our Cebu tours within the areas named on each page. Prices shown are estimates and are confirmed when you book.
