Egypt rewards travelers who plan a little before they arrive. Most international guests combine Cairo and Giza with either the Red Sea coast or a Nile cruise — rarely all three in a rushed week.

Peak season runs from October through April, when daytime temperatures are comfortable for temple visits. Summer is hot but excellent for snorkeling and resort stays in Hurghada or Marsa Alam.

Book key experiences — Nile cruises, hot-air balloons in Luxor, and private pyramid visits — at least two to three weeks ahead in high season. Transfers between regions are long; we recommend overnight buses or domestic flights for Cairo ↔ Luxor routes.
