November is not one month

This is the part almost nobody writes down, and it is the most useful thing to know when you are choosing dates.

The first week still behaves like the tail of summer. Luxor and Aswan can push into the mid-thirties in the middle of the day, the sea is at its warmest all year at around 27 °C, and the sites are still hot enough that the early-start rule applies exactly as it does in September. If you are coming primarily to swim, this is the best week of the month.

The middle two weeks are the ones people mean when they recommend November. Daytime in the high twenties, evenings that need a light layer, temples comfortable until late morning, and the sea still perfectly warm. This is the sweet spot, and it is also when the shoulder-season pricing is at its most generous relative to the weather.

The last week tips into winter. Mornings in Luxor can start genuinely cool — you will want a jacket at the Valley of the Kings gate at seven — and the water begins its slide towards the winter 22 °C.
