Berlin is a city you understand best on foot. Within a short walk of the Brandenburg Gate you find the Reichstag, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, the Topography of Terror and Checkpoint Charlie, and our guides connect them into one story, from the Nazi years to the fall of the Wall. You can also go inside the Reichstag and up to its glass dome, see Museum Island and the government district from a boat on the Spree, or taste currywurst, döner and German pastry on a food walk through the centre.
Two trips take you beyond the city by public transport. Sachsenhausen, in Oranienburg to the north, is a former concentration camp and now a memorial; the visit is serious, and the memorial advises against bringing children under 12. Potsdam, to the south-west, is the town of the Prussian kings, with Sanssouci Palace and its park. If you would rather set your own route, a private walk starts from your hotel lobby at a time you choose.
Our own guides lead every walk in English or German. For the Reichstag the Bundestag requires each guest's full name and date of birth in advance and photo ID on the day. For the trips outside the city you buy a public transport day ticket for zones ABC. Prices shown are estimates and are confirmed with your booking.
