Day-trip boats come and go from Sha'ab El Erg — the reef known as Dolphin House — but this trip stays. You take a private boat out to the reef, and once the crowds head back to shore you have it to yourselves: swim with the wild dolphins that gather here, snorkel the coral, and spend the night on board under a sky full of stars. The crew cooks fresh Egyptian food, the cabins are comfortable, and a small tender (zodiac) takes you out to wherever the dolphins are moving. It's a slow, private, family-and-couples kind of trip — closer to a mini liveaboard than a day tour.
